Description
Participants will join master teachers and quilting artists as they learn about Hawaii’s unique tropical quilting patterns. Both novice and expert quilt makers are encouraged to take part in this workshop, which integrates the unique Hawaiian culture with beautiful island fabrics.
The workshop will begin with a presentation and demonstration on Hawaiian quilting and its deep relationship with the history and culture of Hawaii. Participants will learn the basics of Hawaiian quilting as they work on individual projects. A pre-made kit that contains all the necessary materials will be given to each participant.
A Pacific Rim flavored lunch will be provided to the participants before they leave for their fabric sojourn in search of that perfect piece of tropical fabric for their Hawaiian quilt.
