Recruited as an intern, Laurent Colombo is currently majoring in Business Administration with a certification in International Tourism at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

Since his arrival from France, Laurent has been focusing his studies in the field of Fair Trade, Green and Sustainable Tourism to promote and contribute to the authenticity of local communities.

Laurent said he obtained the perfect fit by joining the Hawaiian EDventure program when he found out that the program dedicated its efforts towards cultural preservation and sustainable tourism.

Laurent’s primary role, at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Conference Center, is to promote the Hawaiian EDventure travel program by telling the mo‘olelo (story) of this innovative adventure. Laurent hopes to entice visitors (of all ages) to explore the Island of Hawaii and to experience the Island’s natural beauty.

As Laurent says, and wishes to share, “no matter where you are from, embracing and learning about the authentic culture of the Island of Hawaii, makes you feel like you’ve come home”.
