Hau‘oli Sayles
With an open mind and an open heart, Hau‘oli Sayles set forth on a journey which lead to a significant opportunity to employ all of her gifts, talents, skills, and abilities. Exceedingly devoted to contributing to the community and making a difference, Hau‘oli joined the University of Hawaii at Hilo Conference Center ohana (family) in March 2008. Possessing extensive knowledge and expertise in the areas of accounting, information technology, and office administration, Hau‘oli fulfilled her call of duty as an Administrative/Fiscal Support Assistant, a vital component to this pioneering, high energy team of gifted innovators.
Committed to the perpetuation of her Hawaiian Heritage, History, and Culture, she is passionate about portraying, sharing, and spreading the uniqueness of our islands and the spirit of Aloha! found nowhere else in the world. Hau‘oli is very grateful for this momentous occasion to share her mana‘o (knowledge) to the community through this wonderful foundation.
Motivated by her dedication to the mentorship of our youth, Hau‘oli strives to set a noble example, and she aspires to reveal a positive role model. She expresses the importance of youth by her willingness and devotion to continually educate them to secure our worthy cause, and to ensure that they will carry on these traditions for generations to come.
An advocate for eco-tourism, innovative technologies, and sustainability, Hau‘oli hopes her interests contributes to the accomplishment of the UH Hilo Conference Center’s mission. She says that there is no better place to put these concepts into practice than our most exquisite place we call Hawai‘i, and there is no better vehicle provided to accomplish this than through all the University of Hawaii at Hilo Conference Center has to offer.
Regarded by many as “da happy girl”, Hau‘oli was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii. Her entire childhood years were spent in the Hawaiian Homestead of Pana‘ewa, where she now resides. She hopes her career at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Conference Center will provide life-changing experiences for our youth and the community, the preservation of Hawai‘i’s cultural beliefs and values, and the innovative progress of sustainability to ensure the longevity of this institution for generations to come.
