Ke Aloha no,
I have been an educator for nearly 30 years. I spent the first half of my professional career in a wonderful student-centered school. There, I became a student of teaching and learning and discovered that I loved outdoor education! Hands-on experiential exploration of any interest engages and enriches our learning experiences, and so, with this approach to teaching, I have enjoyed my work with the UHH Conference Center team for the past… Um… 12 years!
Working to create and develop travel education programs for students and educators, as well as coordinating the Elderhostel and other Life-long Learning programs, has been an exciting and fulfilling journey. Working with Judith and Mary Ann and the Conference Center team’s incredible expertise, offered us the opportunity to provide award-winning programs. I am so proud of our work!
My educational background is in Marine Science and art. Through my work at the Conference Center I have dedicated the past 12 years to my continuing education in the natural history of the islands. I have explored and learned about the complex and diverse, fascinating and perplexing, beautiful and destructive loving and respectful natural world and culture of my island home.
I am so enamored and captivated by the natural and cultural life of Hawaii that I hope to be able to commit the rest of my life to exploring the wonders of Hawaii and sharing the amazing natural world with visitors.
